The Encinitas Medical Marijuana campaign is honored to have received the endorsement of the Democratic Women’s Club of San Diego County! The Democratic Women’s Club voted to endorse the Encinitas and La Mesa Initiatives for Access and Regulation at their August meeting on July 21st. Women play a very important part of the medical marijuana movement, and their voices have helped reframed the public’s perception of marijuana from that of a recreational drug to a healing therapeutic option. Women with breast, ovarian and other cancers, all over the country, have used to combat the effects of radiation and chemo-therapy. As caregivers, they have nursed their ailing parents and spouses through severe, end of life pain, and seen how medical marijuana can provide relief while leaving patients cognizant and present in their final hours. Mother’s of children with severe debilitating epilepsy have banded together across the county to fight for access for the sickest of sick children. We applaud the Women’s Democratic Club for recognizing this need for access and supporting it in San Diego County.
More endorsement announcements will be coming soon, as we build our base of support for this very important initiative!
