The Encinitas Yes on F Campaign, to allow and regulate medical marijuana has received the endorsement of the San Diego County Democratic Party. The San Diego County Democratic Party believes in enacting legislation to remedy any uncertainty concerning the dispensing of medical cannabis with regard to State laws that will provide for the rights of medical cannabis patients and specify the means and manner of dispensing to qualified patients.
In 1996, the voters of California approved the Compassionate Use Act to allow qualified patients access to medical marijuana. More than fifteen years later, Encinitas patients still do not have access to medical marijuana in our community. This measure would allow for safe, regulated access to medical marijuana in Encinitas for qualified patients with a valid doctor’s recommendation through well-lit, secure storefront dispensaries operating in full compliance with the California Compassionate Use Act. The initiative sets strict operating and safety requirements for medical marijuana dispensaries, including security cameras, alarms, and guards. The initiative requires dispensaries to act as responsible neighbors with limited operating hours, appropriate signage, and appointed community liaisons. Join us in affirming the rights of Encinitas patients to obtain medical marijuana in a regulated environment with strong oversight.
The campaign was proud to receive the endorsement of the Chicano Democratic Assoc., San Diego County Young Democrats, and the San Diego Democratic Women’s Club. With the San Diego Democratic Party’s endorsement we can work together to address the healthcare needs of Encinitas patients.
